3. Why doesn't Web-enabled OASIS work with earlier versions of the Macintosh OS?

Web-enabled OASIS is based upon Java running with a secure server. Earlier versions of the Macintosh OS do not support the required version of Java to make OASIS work properly. Microsoft Internet Explorer does not have complete support either. See the Mac page for more information.

Mac OS X is required and the latest build of either Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Mozilla Seamonkey are required.

5. Sometimes it takes a long time to for the OASIS java application to download and start running. Why is that?

Several factors, the most significant of which is your connection to the Internet. Someone on a cable modem should see the login screen faster than someone using a dial-up modem. Also, when you connect to Web-enabled OASIS a second time (before closing and restarting your browser), you should see the login screen (shown above) much faster.

10. I've forgotten my PIN. What do I do?

If you have forgotten your PIN, are unable to correctly answer the PIN secret question, or have had your OASIS access disabled, you will need your PIN reset by the Office of the Registrar.

Your PIN can be reset in-person by visiting the Office of the Registrar, 105 Academic Building, (706)542-4040, during regular business hours with your drivers license or UGACard, or by faxing a signed request to the Office of the Registrar at 706-583-8162 with a copy of your drivers license or UGACard.

If a student cannot come to the Registrar's Office in person or send a fax, they may send the Office of the Registrar a request to reset their PIN from their UGA email account. The e-mail needs to be sent to reghelp@uga.edu. Please include your student 810 number in the email. If the 810 number is not listed or the email was not sent from your UGA email address, the request will not be processed. Once your PIN is reset, a confirmation email will be sent.
